LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of this session you will be aware of everything you need to plan, how to involve your crew and you will feel confident to skipper cross channel... and back!

"A kitten crossing a motorway"

This is how a friend described sailing through the shipping lanes on her first channel crossing! But don't be daunted - as always, preparation is the key and I'll point you in the right direction so you can enjoy this key sailing landmark, out of sight of land.

It's all about the tides

We'll look at how the tides rule the waves, quite literally! How to use tides to your advantage by also knowing when they will make the crossing harder. And tips to reduce the tidal navigation work you have to do on passage, reducing errors and lessening potentially queasy time down below,

Where to land, and getting back!

We'll also cover some of the cross channel bureaucracy you need to be aware of and considering anchoring vs marinas. Remember, we'll be looking at real life passages you can relate to, the session will be adapted to what you tell me about your experience and boat, and you can ask questions!
