LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of this session you will have a broad outline of what you need to plan and prepare you, your crew and your boat for offshore voyaging. You will be aware of sources of information for weather on passage, think about possible 'what if' scenarios and more to help you enjoy an offshore passage where it really is all down to you.

It's really all up to you

There's nowhere to pull in offshore, although there are some techniques to give yourself breathing space when required. We'll be looking again at preparation and developing the right mindset for voyaging offshore.

South to warmer climes :)

Eyes on the prize! There's no land on the left anymore, not much land at all, but you really have done a lot of the hard work already. Don't be daunted, this will be epic. From seamounts to swell, watch systems to deckwalks, we'll look at what makes it all work well.

Where are you going to go first?

I'll be sharing my checklists and tips on good landing spots. Remember, we'll be looking at real life passages you can relate to, the session will be adapted to what you tell me about your experience and boat, and you can ask questions!
